Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) EVL2462-J-00B Evaluation Board
Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) EVL2462-J-00B Evaluation Board is designed to demonstrate the performance of the MP2462 synchronous step-down converter. The board supports a wide 4.2V to 32V input voltage range and delivers up to 2A of continuous output current. EVL2462-J-00B regulates output voltages down to 0.6V while maintaining high efficiency and a fast transient response through current-mode control. The MPS board incorporates built-in protection features, including over-current protection, under-voltage protection, and thermal shutdown. The design requires only a small number of standard external components and is based on a space-saving TSOT23-6 package. Typical efficiency reaches 91.7% at a 12V input and 5V output, with peak efficiency as high as 94.7%.
The evaluation board offers optimized performance with the addition of an MPS MPL-AL6060 series inductor and operates at a fixed 800kHz switching frequency. Additional features include internal soft start, low-dropout mode, output discharge, and low sleep-mode quiescent current. These capabilities make the board an effective platform for evaluating compact, high-efficiency power conversion designs.
