Texas Instruments' TPS1685 Stackable Integrated Hotswap eFuses, Now at Mouser, Provide Maximum Protection for Modern Data Centers

The TPS1685 is the industry's first 48V integrated hot-swap eFuse with power-path protection to support the needs of modern data centers, enabling designers to reach power levels beyond 6kW. The TPS1685 is a compact and reliable solution for server and high-performance computing, graphics, and hardware accelerator cards, data center switches and routers, and fire alarm control panels.

The Texas Instruments TPS1685 hotswap eFuses, now available at Mouser, feature a fast and accurate sense analog current monitor that facilitates predictive maintenance and advanced dynamic platform power management. The TPS1685 eFuses operate at a 9V to 80V input voltage range and provide robust defense against overloads, short-circuits, and excessive inrush current.

The TPS1685 eFuses also offer an active high enable input with adjustable undervoltage lockout (UVLO) and adjustable overvoltage protection. Integrating functionalities typically provided by external sense resistors and current-sense amplifiers, the TPS1685 eFuses simplify designs and reduce solution sizes by up to 50%. The TPS1685 eFuses feature an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, and the 6 x 5 mm² QFN package has IPC9592B clearance for 60V.
