Mikroe LTE Cat.1 5 Click for North America is based on the Sequans GC02S1-NA2 3GPP LTE Release 14 Cat 1 bis-compliant module for 4G LTE cellular connectivity in North American IoT, M2M, and consumer applications. The GC02S1-NA2 is built on optimized Calliope 2 silicon to support improved performance and efficient power consumption. The module supports LTE bands B25 [B2], B66 [B4], B5, B12 [B17], B13, and B14 across approximately 703MHz to 2170MHz, with data rates up to 10Mbps downlink and 5Mbps uplink.

The LTE Cat.1 5 Click for North America offers UART communication with hardware flow control, firmware upgrade support, sleep mode, wake and reset functions, and debug access via UART1 and JTAG. The board also includes network attachment and transmission activity indication, I²C, UART, and USB interfaces, ClickID, mikroBUS™ compatibility, and a micro SIM card holder for 1.8V uSIM cards.

The Mikroe LTE Cat.1 5 Click for North America is designed for applications such as utility meters, industrial sensors, security and alarm systems, payment terminals, asset trackers, smart home devices, smart metering infrastructure, and wearable consumer devices.
