Kinetic Technologies KTA1550 & KTA1552 Active EMI & ESD Suppressors
Kinetic Technologies KTA1550 and KTA1552 Active EMI and ESD Suppressors are single-chip, highly integrated CMOS solutions for Common Mode (CM) noise suppression and transient voltage protection in Ethernet applications. The KTA1550 and KTA1552 deliver system-level Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) suppression in Ethernet products, enabling an easier path to system Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Compliance. The Kinetic Technologies KTA1550 and KTA1552 EMI and ESD Suppressors both feature Active Choke technology, which offers superior Common Mode reduction and immunity compared to passive filtering techniques without degrading Ethernet performance. The adaptive and continuous suppression operates over the entire Ethernet signal bandwidth, compensating for many variables that are the source of common mode noise in Ethernet systems. It also improves the differential-to-common mode balance of the system. This enables system designers to meet EMI emissions and EMI immunity requirements from the start of the design. These devices also include highly robust ESD/Surge protection diodes to protect the Ethernet PHY from various transient overvoltage events.
The dual-channel KTA1550 supports two twisted pair interfaces in a space-saving 4.0mm x 2.5mm 16-pin TDFN package and is suitable for 10Base-T/100Base-TX applications (two for 1000Base-T applications). The quad-channel KTA1552 supports four twisted pair interfaces in a 9.0mm x 4.0mm 36-pin DFN package and is ideal for 1000Base-T applications.
