NXP Semiconductors TJA1421/TJA1425 Single & Quad LIN Transceivers

NXP Semiconductors TJA1421/TJA1425 Single and Quad LIN Transceivers provide physical-layer interfaces for LIN-based automotive and industrial subnetworks while supporting direct connection to modern 1.8V, 3.3V, and 5V microcontrollers. Both devices are compliant with LIN 2.x, SAE J2602, and ISO 17987-4:2016 for 12V LIN systems, and both emphasize low-power standby or sleep behavior with wake-up support for energy-conscious node designs.

The NXP TJA1421 is the single-channel option for commander or responder interfacing, with tighter responder termination to support larger LIN responder networks and backward compatibility to the TJA1021. NXP Semiconductors TJA1425 is the quad-channel option, integrating four LIN commander channels and commander termination in one package to reduce BOM and PCB area in multi-channel LIN systems, while also adding 1.8V VIO and low-power wake-up flexibility.

The transceivers are ideal for body and vehicle control, HVAC, eCockpit, zonal controllers, electric pumps, energy management, and building control systems. The TJA1421 is available in SO8 and HVSON8 packages, while TJA1425 is offered in a leadless DHVQFN24 package sized 3.5mm x 5.5mm for dense multi-channel designs.
