onsemi Critical-Mode PFC/Quasi-Resonant PWM Controllers

onsemi Critical-Mode PFC/Quasi-Resonant Current-Mode PWM Controllers combine a power factor correction (PFC) controller and a quasi-resonant PWM controller. The integration of these devices provides a cost-effective design and reduces external components. For the PFC, the onsemi FAN6920MR and FAN6921MK use a controlled on-time technique to provide a regulated DC output voltage and perform the natural power-factor correction. For the PWM, both of these Critical-Mode PFC/Quasi-Resonant Current-Mode PWM Controllers provide several functions to enhance the power system performance: valley detection, green-mode operation, and high/low line overpower compensation. These onsemi devices are ideal for applications such as AC/DC NB adapters, open frame SMPS, and battery charger.
