Syfer / Knowles C0G, NP0, & X7R Non-Magnetic MLC Capacitors
Syfer / Knowles C0G, NP0, and X7R Non-Magnetic MLC Capacitors are designed for applications such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), and navigation. The non-magnetic MLC capacitors support semiconductor processing where electron-beam systems are utilized. These devices use a copper barrier instead of a nickel barrier, making them ideal for Passive Intermodulation (PIM) sensitive applications. Nickel can be a source of hysteresis and a contributor to PIM. The non-magnetic termination is offered with selected non-magnetic high Q (C0G/NP0), X5R, and X7R dielectrics, providing a fully non-magnetic component (μr=1.0000).
The ultra-low loss high Q ceramic capacitors with C0G/NP0 characteristics are designed for high-power applications that require minimal power loss and very low self-heating. These capacitors are used in wireless charging systems operating in the kHz and MHz frequencies. The non-magnetic MLC capacitors feature industry-standard packages suitable for pick-and-place PCB assembly. The C0G and NP0 series come with sintered termination for optimized high Q/low ESR performance to meet 260°C soldering reflow profiles per J-STD-020. The X7R devices have FlexiCap™ termination to minimize the risk of mechanical cracking.
