Texas Instruments LMG362x 65W USB Type-C™ PD Evaluation Modules
Texas Instruments LMG362x 65W USB Type-C™ Power Delivery (PD) Evaluation Modules are designed to demonstrate high efficiency and high density for a 65W USB Type-C PD offline adapter using the integrated GaN FET with current-sense emulation. These boards support a universal input range of 90VAC to 265VAC. The single output can be set to 5V, 9V, and 15V, all at 3A maximum, and to 20V at 3.25A maximum, which can be adjusted with the USB PD interface controller. Texas Instruments LMG362x evaluation modules offer high-frequency operation up to 200kHz nominal for a small solution size, while the multi-mode operation maintains high efficiency. Synchronous rectification is utilized on the output to improve efficiency. Some of the main devices used in these designs include the LMG3622, LMG3624, and LMG3626 integrated GaN FETs. The evaluation boards meet CoC Tier 2 and DoE Level 6 efficiency requirements.Features
- Universal AC input of 90VAC to 264VAC with USB Type-C PD 3.0 compliant output up to 65W (5V/3A, 9V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/3.25A)
- Efficiency and standby power consumption exceed regulatory requirements CoC Tier 2 and DoE Level VI
- Power density of 28W/in3 with an efficiency of 93% at 90VAC full load
- Integrated GaN device reduces component count and increases efficiency with current-sense emulation
- High-frequency operation up to 200kHz nominal
