High-speed SMD ferrites have a lower impedance in the lower frequency ranges, giving them a low attenuation for fast signals. Applications include USB 2.0, IEEE 1394, and LVDS.
Wide-band SMD ferrites (WE-CBF) show high impedance in the low-frequency range, making them wide-band through the whole spectrum. Applications are control signals, RS232, RS422, and DC/DC converters.
High-current SMD ferrites are designed for high currents over 1A. The rated current refers to 40K self-heating. High-current SMD ferrites are available in all three types (high speed, wide band, and high frequency). Applications include power supplies and DC/DC converters.
